the studio

Situated at the end of the Thora valley along the winding course of the Bellinger River...

studio

'Cool Creek' is a 200 acre (approximately 80 hectare) property surrounded by the New England and Bellinger River National Parks.

On the river flat stands my studio built from the recycled timbers of the old Raleigh railway station.

Bellinger River

Up the hill stands the tree cottage which is home to myself and my family. We live off the pristine rainforest waters of Cool Creek which also provides our power.

Over 300 food trees provide our fruit and nuts and each season brings with it the harvest of our vegetable garden.

The beauty of this place resonates with my soul. Living so close with the earth and its seasons provides a rich experience in connectedness.

Coming home to Cool Creek creates such spaces for contemplation that as I resolve my last concerns of my medical day, after a quiet reverie with the song of breeze, bird and running water...there is no greater pleasure than to retreat to my studio to create.
